Well, the last time I tried that just after 1ish my time, it could find 
the server at wdtv.com.  The spammers had loaded up all 100 smtp ports 
of that old qmail server, so I left it in the outbox as I had other 
stuff to do.

Coming back to the machine about 3ish, kmail had crashed.  So I restarted 
it and let it submit a bare crash report.

Just now, the send button seems to have worked, at about that old servers 
normal acceptance pace.

So now we wait, and see how many shoes are dropped the next time. :)
