Somewhere along the line you got a lot more stuff on your system than
I have on mine, e.g. samba... and pulse. I still have more than half
of my 16GB card free (USB HDD for video and images).

It's good to hear that the new Pi3 hardware features work,
disappointing that sound quality hasn't improved.
