Even the Debian project cannot count the number of installed distros: 1 iso download=1, 10, ..., N installations? 1 aptitude update/upgrade = 1, 10, ..., N upgrades (via apt-cacher)? In fact this is a really difficult question to ask. Of course, with better tracking tools, the estimations will become more precise or cover particular topics, but still... Tools such as "The Linux Counter" (http://counter.li.org/) also exist but require at least a manual intervention (then a script can be used). Debian also have a package popularity contest (http://popcon.debian.org/), etc. and all of these things are really fun indeed! Go on Trinity, tell us how much you're popular! Nicolas
