Yes, been done, sometimes it works. This printer is finicky about its 
diet. Doesn't tell cups its done for instance. OTOH its a heck of a 
printer for just over a hundred dollar bill. I've probably put 20 reams 
of paper thru it, on its 4th or 5th toner now. Beats the daylights out 
of anything Lexmark ever sold. For 3x the dollars.
