I thought I could out-wit the process and set _both_ panes to the
default URI in the profile. Then, after setting one pane to be the
active pane, I saved the profile. However - as you found out - when
starting konqueror from the command line with the profile and a given
URI, it opens the given URI in what was the active panel when the
profile was saved, and the other panel is empty. The location bar for
the empty panel has no content, but it seems to be the same as seen
with [about:blank ].

I would also call it a BUG.
