I have tried that, up to 4000 4025 4050 minutes. Nominally 5 minutes 
later it powers down, and an xset -q shows:
DPMS (Energy Star):
  Standby: 450    Suspend: 600    Off: 900
  DPMS is Enabled
  Monitor is On
And theres not a thing I can do about it.

I'm beginning to think of as s klepto shoplifter that deserves shooting 
myself.
