Thanks!  That worked.   Well, not perfectly -- like with all things linux.

The update/upgrade blew up 3/4 of the way through the upgrade.  But,
several repeated apt-get upgrade executions got it completed
successfully.

Except, all of my 3.5.12 desktop configuration was lost.
Only my desktop objects remained.

Most worrisome was that I lost all my konqueror bookmarks.
But, I can export a suitable copy from my other ubuntu/trinity system.

So, most 'things' seem to execute Just Fine.    But, I do
see some problems that I'll raise in separate threads here.
