Ha, I not thought that KDE4 applications could have a version number 3.x.
Yes, it seems to me that the problem is probably elsewhere.

How do you set /etc/sudoers (or /etc/sudoers.d/)? On the test machine I have 
my account in the group "sudo", and there to me it works.
