All _you_ - and apparently Philip - need is a taskbar, launchers & a systray. 
You are free to have them.   They exist.  But why should you - or anyone

Great.  You have found something that you like, and you are free to use it.  
But why should everyone else use it just because you want to do so?

You both have the freedom and the right to use whatever you choose and 
whatever you feel happy with.

You do not have the right to dictate what the rest of us should use!
