Maybe a word about trimming replies is in order. I don't mean to pick on
Francois and Patrick -- they just have the misfortune of having presented
the opportunity. :) It seems to be a very common problem here.

It really doesn't take 8 levels of quotes, and a whole bunch of text from
each, to preserve the continuity of a conversation; and it defeats the
purpose of bottom-posting. The idea is, to quote only as much as necessary
so readers can follow the conversation. Usually it really does take only a
few lines of quoted text; much more than that makes it difficult to read.
By the time it gets to 8 levels and almost 100 lines of quoted text, it
takes longer to page down through it than to read the 4 lines of text at the
bottom.

So, I hope we can convince folks to trim their replies a little more.
