   Yes, the oldest kernel that supports the hardware (specifically the 
AMD graphics card) is 3.5.

   I'm not smart enough to do that.  :-(  Besides, the latest ExeGNU 
live CD won't boot, so the remaster utility cannot run.

   Tried all 3 "official" live CDs.  None have a new enough kernel.  I 
now have a fair selection of current Trinity Live CDs.

   The hardware (Samsung 355E5C-A01) is not particularly new (got it 
fairly cheaply as an end-of-model-runout) but the AMD hardware did not 
get supported properly until kernel 3.5.

   So far, the only live CD that boots and installs reliably is Mint-14, 
but as a GOF in little-kid mode, I want a TDE desktop.  

   I've searched the list archives and there are several mentions of 
installing Trinity on Mint but none are detailed enough for a GOF.
