I use konqueror currently with the webkit kpart rendering enabeled - this does 
usually work reasonably well on sites where the khtml part has problems.
sometimes, khtml is better, though.
switching rendering engine is a breeze, once figured out, how to do it :)
can't say anything about ram/cpu-usage.
