So you want the look to change, but TDE to remain functional??  That 
is interesting.  I think that in the end bling and functionality make 
poor companions because they appeal to different people on the whole.  

For some of us bling actually hampers functionality, and the designers 
of bling appear to have little interest in how the thing works.  (In 
my experience the same applies nowadays to cookers and kitchen 
sinks - functionality is being abandoned on the altar of bling!)
