OK I've just installed an opensuse 12.3 x86_64 virtual machine, with
default KDE4 installation, and I followed the instructions on the
Trinity wiki.
=> It works well for me.

In Yast package manager, I see that some packages do not any have value
in "size" column, but I believe this is normal: these are packages that
do NOT contain any file (either meta-package like 'tdeaddons' or empty
debugging package).
So this is not a mirror issue after all.

When I try to install the Trinity meta-package "trinity-desktop", it
works correctly.
When I try the "trinity-tdebase" package, it works too.

By default, I have neither "/opt/kde3" directory, nor "/opt/trinity".
I notice that you have a "/opt/kde3" directory.
So I'm pretty sure that you have some kde3-related packages installed.
There are some KDE3 packages in the main repository, even if you did not
configure the opensuse-KDE3 repository.

List of packages to remove before installing Trinity (maybe there are
others I'm unaware of):
  arts
  kdeaccessibility3
  kdeartwork3
  kdebase3
  kdebindings3
  kdeedu3
  kdegames3
  kdegraphics3
  kdelibs3
  kdemultimedia3
  kdenetwork3
  kdepim3
  kdesdk3
  kdetoys3
  kdeutils3
  kdewebdev3

Please, make sure you have uninstalled them all, then try to install
Trinity again.
