In the main Kmail window : *Click on the Configuration menu *Click on Configure Kmail *Choose Appearance (in the column on the left) *Choose the FONT tab *Choose Apply to : Text message (or Body of message) I'm translating as I go since I have a French Kmail *Choose your font name and size, that's it It works fine for me and it's "permanent".
