A couple observations. I do not use deb-multimedia, not sure how much of it 
you are using ..my experience is it causes more issues than it solves..i.e., 
I get libdvdcss from vlc.org.

I have my 'Mail' folder located "/home/user/Mail'..not in the ~/.trinity path, 
there is a setting for this. backups, then mv .trinity out of the way and see 
if a new one eliminates the issue.
