And, while it seems to be working, its also stuck in a loop, checking 
mail many times a second. I just checked the log that my script keeps, 
and there does not appear to be a stuck "firing pin".

Is there some sort of an ack from kmail that this dcop thing uses to 
clear the buffer?  Looking in htop, my script and its inotifywait helper 
are both down at the bottom of the list, but kmail is burning 99 to 102% 
of an Athlon core. I did not restart it after killing the timed mail 
checks, so I'll do that next.
