Easiest solution would be to remove ldm, unless there's some reason you
can't do that.  I've never run ldm, but I've run into the same problem with
lightdm taking over from tdm-trinity when it gets updated.  I've learned
(several times...) to uninstall lightdm so it doesn't do that.
