I left out, after you have altered your sources.list, you need to do (change 
for preferred pacakage manager)

# aptitude update
# aptitude safe-upgrade
# aptitude full-upgrade

There may not be anything to do at this last stage.

Then install kmail-trinity if it is not already there.
