Well, I have always understood from other Debian users that it does, I have used several different DEs with Debian, all with the same set-up, and it does not apply to all other distros whichever DE you use. I have not had a GUI root log-in since I abandoned a brief spell with OpenSuse many years ago. I have always installed Debian with root enabled. This may make a difference. Lisi
