"xsm" stands for "X Session Manager".  "xvt" is a minimal terminal application, 
and "xclock" is a clock.  My distro keeps them on-hand for testing and use with 
systems that have an X server and a bare WM, rather than a full desktop 
environment.  You shouldn't need to have them installed to run TDE, so these
warnings are a red herring.

Do you have anything in .xinitrc?
