I noticed the same problem, but I was not able to identify when it began to 
appear. Thank you for your research!

The problem lies in the fact that newer versions of Thunderbird began to use 
lowercase letters for hex codes in quotedprintable encoding. Now I will test 
the patch for tdelibs, which should correct the problem... Stay tuned :)
