My oldest that I know still works is about 16. I have a whole bunch in between, most working, some waiting for me to replace bad power supply and/or motherboard caps. > If I only could find a way to tell X that I want the panel to not expand to > the other screen but to stay on the primary one only ... and the windows to > expand only to the one they are placed on. > I'm sure I had this with the old Dell (intel card). Again I don't understand the problem(s). In http://fm.no-ip.com/SS/KDE/desktopR14-3520x1200x120-jessie-intel.jpg the only windows appearing on both screens at once are those I purposely put there. None of the windows you see there will fullscreen into more than one. FF for example will fullscreen to whichever screen the majority of its pixels occupy. Getting it to occupy the whole desktop (in fewest actions) requires dragging window to a corner, then dragging the opposite sides to the edges of the desktop. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
