keyboard layout must be configured in TDE. By default switching is done via
CTRL+SHIFT+k, however I remapped it to CTRL+SHIFT+right arrow, because "k"
does not work in non latin keyboard.

Perhaps you can provide screenshot - in my setup it shows up in 1 column.
Please also provide version and layout information

From your questions I think you have to configure your window manager
properly or you are missing something. I use "Plastik" and double click on
the left behaves the same as windows -> close. One click -> same as windows
menu with options (foreground, background, desktop etc)
