greets!

I installed the trinity kde system several days ago and am getting 
used to it, using an hp pavillion laptop with Debian.

I have problems with one app, klibido 3.5.12. you can enter 
characters, words or regular expressions in a little bar called 
'filter by subject'.

when I try to do so, nothing shows up: no text is entered, nor can one 
do 'ctrl +a' to select all the headers. basically no keyboard entry is 
possible.

I am using standard us-intl keyboard layout. the machine is an HP 
Pavillion laptop. it has worked fine with all variants of Linux I've 
had on it. I have no other keyboard input problems so far.

I have not tried reinstalling klibido.

any tips?
