Yes, I agree.  And will do so.  And will also think of a clear way of stating 
another wish-bug for which I would be willing to pay.  But I can't afford 
much. :-(

Agreed.  I don't even like icons!!  And as a rule don't use them.  If I get my 
menu entry I shan't even want it!!!

Yes, it does that.  And I agree that that feature is great.  But it can also 
if asked actually run correcting spellings as does a word processor 
spell-checker.  This is a great time saver.  It asks before every correction, 
but cab correct the same error all the way through the document.  This is 
what there is no menu entry for any more when there always used to be one.

The fact that a workaround exists in the form of an icon is great, if too 
Windows like, and it would have saved me a lot of time and angst if I had 
taken in that fact sooner, but I prefer working from the keyboard.
