These crashes should be resolved in commit 051acc7d (master) and 7d83a0cb 
(r14.0.x branch). Thank you for your report of the problem!

By the way, what do you have the kernel - are files in sysfs 
folder /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu available to a regular user?
