Thanks. I thought I knew Debian and TDE good enough to spare reading the FAQ, 
obviously I was wrong :)

Contrary to Nik's 2� I would say Q4OS *is* worth bothering, especialy if you 
want to introduce new users to both Debian and TDE.

I got a colleague to install it (1.8) on a netbook - he came to Linux after 
KDE 3 and did not know TDE at all.

*And* I would add that they do an ARM version (I think not yet based on Debian 
9) that runs TDE on the Raspberry pi and similar machines (where KDE and 
Gnome 3 have no chance at all).

I have a Raspberry pi running TDE in my shade, running a TCL front end to a 
USB thermometer, that I can check over wifi with Kdrc, lot fo fun :)
