I looked several years back. Everybody claimed to have a wysiwyg, but all
ended up generating bloated or awkward markup that took longer to pair down
and tweak than it did just to write it correctly to begin with.

TDE provides both quanta+ and kate that do a wonderful job of tag inclusion
and are very easy to work with. Quanta+ does quite a bit more than kate, and I
really enjoyed it for html/css/php/javascript coding.

I'm interested as well as to whether wysiwyg has made much progress.
