No idea why you would have so many issues with upgrades and installation,
but your spirit is most amazing - never give up!
the issue with the lib is I think because you jumped over from 8 to 10 or
something like this.

My advise is follow the stream. In the linux community it mostly works for
you. This is like swarm intelligence. Customize  here and there less as
possible and write logs, so that you do not forget. If the list of logs is
more than one or two printable pages - forget it ... too much
customization.
