I am not sure what I understand.

I used mouse right click on the tdepowersave icon chose settings.
General settings
button evens
button Lid button, 
selected  suspend to disk

And this did not work.

I can also click on the left Trinity icon and 
in system select tdepowersave

But it is the same thing.

What do I miss?
