If you gave them the correct address of your new account, sounds like a 
phone call is in order. Or you didn't answer a query message the server 
sent to the new address.  You need to reply, proving the adress works 
before the subscribe is actually done.

When I last moved to get away from VZ's excrementy service, I had to call 
shentel and get all my mailing lists whitelisted.  They still bounce an 
obvious spam from the debian list which gets their server into foul 
mood, but it just goes to show shentel has a far better spam filter than 
debian uses.  I used to bounce them back at debian, but they seem to 
have a black hole for that.
