Aye, got some of the same errors.
I didn't know devel stopped at 2014.
Like you, I use avidemux/handbrake & CLI for encoding/transcoding.
It just seemed like such a kool app.
But, like Crazy Nik said, it's a GTK app (how rude).
No sense in wasting time over a dead app... not that I ever do... 0_o
