I am using Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric.
The rest of the menus seem to open without any problem. It is only the 
"Preferences" and "System" ones that cause the panel to crash. I tried 
to switch to Kickoff. It has a more KDE 4 like-appearance, but does not 
seem to work at all (completely empty).
