kmail on headless debian

I just setup a VM to run a headless debian and kmail.
The idea is to ssh -X into that deb VM and forward kmail to whatever OS I'm 
in, so sorta poor man's mail server.
I just installed debian without desktop task, then added trinity repos and 
installed kmail-trinity. 
Calling /opt/....kmail however nothing at all happens.

Do I need to install a full trinity after all or at least to install a 
base .trinity folder...?
