I think everybody has that preference. It's just that developers don't have 
*your* particular hardware combination to test on, and when the required 
hardware data is missing or broken, as apparently must be the case for your 
display's EDID, there's little that can be done unless you participate in the 
development process and report the problems you encounter before the product 
is released.
