  *Must* uninstall? I thought TDE co-existed with KDE (3 or 4).

Do you mean as a necessity, or just to remove unused code?
   (I have TDE installed on Mageia-2 (KDE4), but did not realise I 
*must* uninstalll anything!

Or are you simply referring to *sole* use of TDE, when KDE code is not 
needed?
