wifi problem ideas.

hey,

so I have an old (by present standards) netbook, specifically

Samsung N145 Plus

I've got Hare's version of Trinity Desktop on it; having some trouble
getting wifi to work. I get the old 'no wireless extensions' problem.

I've got wireless-tools installed and firmware-wifi; backports for
squeeze set up in sources.list.

if I do "sudo /sbin/modprobe iwlagn" the driver seems to load and
dmesg tells me stuff about khz and antenna gain, etc.

still nothing shows in iwconfig or wicd.

wifi works on this machine: opensuse, netrunner, some other stuff,
catches it easily.

I wonder if this is a kernel issue? it's got 2.6.32-5-686.

suggestions welcome.

(the wireless hardware is identified as centrino wireless-n 100).

F.
