I have wifi, Debian and TDE and they are great together.  But it is Wheezy and 
3.5.13.2, and the netbook is an Acer Aspire One, so not new.

If there are wifi drivers for Linux, and it would appear that there are, you 
should have no real problems.  (I have installed Debian and TDE on newer 
boxen - but not with wi-fi.)
