I successfully use SOGo - http://www.sogo.nu/ - this is an excellent groupware 
server that uses standard protocols - SMTP / IMAP (Sieve), CalDAV, CardDAV. 
TDE includes support for CalDAV and CardDAV, however, still need to work on 
them a bit.
