My newest Dell is >5 years old. My oldest that I know still works is about
16. I have a whole bunch in between, most working, some waiting for me to
replace bad power supply and/or motherboard caps.

Again I don't understand the problem(s). In
http://fm.no-ip.com/SS/KDE/desktopR14-3520x1200x120-jessie-intel.jpg the only
windows appearing on both screens at once are those I purposely put there.
None of the windows you see there will fullscreen into more than one. FF for
example will fullscreen to whichever screen the majority of its pixels
occupy. Getting it to occupy the whole desktop (in fewest actions) requires
dragging window to a corner, then dragging the opposite sides to the edges of
the desktop.
