I don't have a wifi keyboard or mouse though. actually, I shouldn't 
have said 'mouse', it's the _trackpad_.

I might try connecting a usb trackball and see if it gets recognized 
but I think the gui is frozen.

and using 'startx' gets me into gui-land too!
